Madras Bashai
Yes...Madras bashai is a mix of Tamil, Sanskrit, Telungu, Hindi...(anything else).. 'naina' is a very common word which is a telungu word...meaning father.. lots of english words in the recent past got added....

Origin of place names in Chennai
I think AVADI is an accronym....its something like 'Armoured Vehicles and Artelery Depot of India' (???) or something... Its hardly a 100 or so years old name....I think.

Thats a valid argument. SN Sir...please do share any proof you have... thinking in these lines...muniyandi is muni + aandi.. Aandi should be obviously Shiva...so muniyaandi should be shiva or form of shiva...does it sound logical? Satish

Wondeful Sankar. Thanks. Then this puts rest all the debates happening around Tirumala, as it was a Muruga temple once and Ramanujar converted it into a perumal temple.
