dear SPS, I'm catching up on my 400 emails! Yes, I've known about Lakulisa, so glad He made it to the south. Isn't it all fascinating? If anybody wants images of Him, I have several. kathie

BOOK REVIEW -
Dear good friend SPS, I still think Laguleesa must be related to 'Lakulisha'--early Saiva sant from Gujarat, represented naked & urdvalinga, holding club. Orissans represent him frequently. kathie Let me know if I'm wrong.

Hitler was not a christian majority dictator, he was an atheist. Revenge, revenge, let's hear it for Revenge. All great religions encourage it, don't they! [hope you can hear my sarcasm] kathie

I'd like to just have 'darshan' of Ramana Maharshi because I believe he was the genuine article! The photo we always see of him is really excellent & emanates warmth. Kathie

venketesh, no, no clear idea why Hitler chose it as the National Socialist Party's symbol. He was confused about what he called the 'Aryan Race' -- no such thing. Guess we'll have to google it. kathie

One difference in the way the Nazi showed the swastika, it rested on the point of one of the arms. Rt. handed & lft. handed svastikas displayed by Jains & Hindus rest on the flat of one arm. Correct? kathie

One interesting note, Rudyard Kipling's writings in Br. editions had a swastika embossed on their leather covers. His 'logo', I guess. There's a recent Kipling luggage company; and to be totally PC, the central medallion on their…

It's the word : "idol", that I don't care for, not the concept. I think my point was too subtle. You folks speak several languages, me, only one. I've been a bhakti before many murthis in India, and have had the blessing of …

I'll open a small can of worms here. Naming puranas Mythology vs. Bible Stories is somewhat comparable to calling murthis -- 'Idols'. That I. word has an ugly connotation to western ears, meaning worshipping something false - a mere p…

Was Jaina really an offshoot of Sanatana Dharma? I don't think Jains would agree with that. . . believe it arose in a parallel course with many overlaps {wasn't it Neminatha who's said to be Sri Krishna's cousin?} kathie
