Thiruvidaimaruthur is about 12 Kms east of Kumbakonam among the trio Srisailam (Malligarjunam) and Thirupudaimaruthur (Tirunelveli).

1. Sembian madevi granting place for a garden; 2. Aditha Karikalan expanding the garden; 3. Panchavan madevi further expanding the garden - Nandhavanam !
Relegiously, It was earlier known as then Kailasam, even now, Kailasam as lifted by Ravana is located in the North East corner.

The famous NALLUR NATARAJA Bronze is kept under lock and key in this temple.
Kumbabishekam to this temple under the Auspicious of Thiruvavaduthirau Adheenam is planned on the day next to Vinayaka Chathurthiday.
The Adheenam, claiming roots from the direct disciple traditions of Lord Siva - Nandhidevar - is promoting a 27 NAKSHATRA NANDHAVANAM - wherein Flowers related to each star will be grown in the Nandhavanam and daily pujas performed. Deposit Rs. 1000 per star.
