    It became 17th only at a later date. When so many shaivaagamas came
    into being it should have been pushed.

    THIRUMOOLAR MENTIONS ONLY SIX AAGAMAS.SIXTH IS MAKUTAM (Makutaagamam)

    Thirumoolar is prior to Appar. He is considered to be the contemporary
    of kaaraikaal ammaiyar

    6th among the earliest 6 aagamas.

    Later it was pushed to 17th

    AAVUDAIYAAR KOIL FOLLOWS THE MAKUTAAGAMA.
