LOADS OF HUMOUR `Kaadhal Kaditham' provided comic relief to the audience.
Man proposes woman disposes. Kaadhal Kaditham (love letter), a Tamil play replete with loads of humour arising out of the storyline, structuring of sequences, characterisation with dialogues, all put together with hilarity, was staged in Kalabharati on Saturday last.
Directed by V. Divakar it was staged under the aegis of Tamil Kalai Mandram.
Das, who is a staunch devotee of Lord Rama, also loves a girl and goes on a love-letter writing spree! Invariably he finds the girl getting engaged to another person of her choice after reading his letters. Left with no alternative he seeks the help of his Lord. Rama appears before him and assures help to make his dream come true. They both try to find the girl but unsuccessfully. As all their effort goes in vain, they get vexed. Das says man proposes but God disposes . Rama corrects him saying that man and God propose, but, the girls, the likes of Parvati in particular, dispose.
While A. Manoharan lived the role of Das, M. Sivaraman as Rama, Priya Natesh as Vanaja, Priya Ram Kumar as Parvathi, Pritha as Madhumathi and Jayalalitha as Akka also performanced well.
Elango as military Anna, C. Balamurugan as Giri, Narayanan as Mama, Madhavan as Ananthasayana and even Praveen as courier and master Dinesh as a gift boy did not lag behind. Make-up by Suryarao and music by Gourisankar while contributed grandeur, stage décor by Sekhar was not wanting.
