Nice summing up on Uthama. missed to read earlier.
clan Queen of Uthama) who also visited Tiruvottiyur along with him!
Re Konerirajapuram, ( about 8 Km east of Kumbakonam) the observation of ASI that the beared-man was Kandrathithar leads to the speculation that he lived during Uthama period and was witnessing the consecration of this Thirunallam temple (Bhoomiswaramudayar) which was done in the 3rd Regnl yr of Uthama, possibly 972 AD.. Means he did not die as per storyline of PS..
The pattern of grants and arrangements for implementation by Sembianmadevi is definitely a fore-runner for Rajaraja to take queue in organising such things in Rajarajeswaram !
The chief Engineer of Konerirajapuram was HARA SARANA SEKARAN ! In Thanjai Big temple, it was Thennavan Moovenda velalan @ adithan suriyan @ Rajaraja Perunthachan!
Sembian madevi (natal star Kettai / Chithirai month) festival is celebrated every year in Nagai Dt Sembian madevi village ! In one go, we will get all the names of Uthama's queens from the inscriptions over here .. lavish grants !
Undoubtedly she has transformed several brick-temples to Katrali (Stone temples ) during Sundara - Uthama and RRC period ! But we should also draw our attention as to the source of such funds !
When I raised this with some of the contemporary Scholars, they did not over rule the possibility of a Financial Pact between Sundara Chozha family and Kandraditha family - with Sembian madevi at the helm!
In the 16th year of Uthama, she gave grants in Thiruvarur and Thirupurambiyam. She reportedly passed away in 1001 after completing consecreation of Chandramouleeswarar in Thiruvakkarai!
In Mukkoodal(near Chingleput) , there appears to be memorial mandap buit for her by RRC !
As rightly depicted by Kalki, Sembian madevi is the first of the royal Queens to have projected herself so prominently .. and Kundavai - sister of RRC followed suit. Olgamadevi, Crown Queen of RRC and Panchavanmadevi Queen of RRC also played their roles very well ..
Thiruvarur Paravai, Udayar Rajendra Chozha devari Anuukiar Paravayar Nagayar .. was equally prominent in his tenure.. for whose sake RjC gold sheeted the vimanam of Thiruvarur temple !
