History: This temple is one in the shivAlaya Ottam temples. There is a stone inscription in the nearby rock-cut temple that dates this temple back to the period of chOza king rAjarAjan.
Specialities: The Holy Bull is in a small hole. It is built in a nice Keralite structure. There is a rock-cut temple nearby. This temple has the stone -inscriptions of the king varaguNa pANdiya (9th century ACE) and rAjarAja chOzan (11th century ACE).
