Dear All
The MMC has the honour of being the first Medical college in India a feat contested by Calcutta medical college (both started in 1835)
Produced the first female doctor
Can anyone check on the date it was actually started that should put an end to the Bengali claims
SPS,Venkat,VK....any evidence in connemara archives?

Hi Sri,
References in the web says both the college started on Feb 1835.

Also the following link says the Culcutta Medical college was started in
20th Feb 1835.
