Michaelangelo AND India
  • Dear All
Michaelangelo is so favmous for his paintings and sculptures but something struck me on my recent trip to Italy was M Angelo talking to Marcopolo Did India influence his art work

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madonna_of_Bruges

In the Madonna and Child he takes a unconventional pose of Jesus standing next to the Madonna as opposed to her having him in her lap
that looks more like our parvathi and muruga....

Like wise his Fresco technique was it inspired from India as it was in India even in 1100 in Big temple

    Any thoughts

    no later than June 1325[2]

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni (March 6, 1475 – February
    18, 1564)

marco went to ceylon, madurai and even st thomas mount chennai. I
