Hi can any one explain me the following lines in Kallai Matum kandal songs in Dasavatharam...
8il 5 kaliyum - maths 5 thil 8 en kaliyathu ?...does he mean any philosophy...if 5 is namashivaya(if i am rite) wat is 8?..or is it prelude to the following lines... asta aaksharam erkum nenajam pancha aaksharam parkathu...please some one explain asta aaksharam and pancha aaksarham
illai endrum sonna pothum indri amyathu...tholai thanta pothum engal thillai marathu... does thillai mean chidambaram here or some other meaning?
Yes, the Om is missing in PanchAksharam. I have indicated the count in numbers in brackets after the sounding syllables for easy understanding.
The only aksharam which includes the Pranavam 'Om' in its count is AshtAksharam as can been seen above. When he says 5 can be deduced from 8, it also means that the support of Pranavam "Om" is not there in the PanchAksharam.
And Thillai is indeed Chidambaram. And the reason for saying "thillai maradhu" is that even if troubled to the maximum, the Vaishnavite shrine will not lose its face.
The prence of hari and haran in thillai has been the perpetual debating point between vaishnavites and shaivaites.
natrajar is dancing for his pleasure and vishnu in a reclining pose is enjoying the dance the vaishnavite would say and the shaivaite would retort ' in the force of natrajars cosmic dance govindaraja fell backwads.
the song hs so many references to those involved other than kamal's parents.
vaali's real name is rangarajan and he adds it in the song rajarajanaivida rangarajan mel.
Yes I noticed that too. Incidentally, I heard that the name of Kamal is not Vishnudasan as claimed in the song, but Rangaraja Nambi. So a kind of "slEdai" and Vaali is very clever in praising himself :-)
