Kanthalur salai and Rajendra's mother
  • Dear All
Read this article on the web any comments
    http://www.malaysia.net/lists/sangkancil/2001-12/msg00606.html

    particularly about Kanthalur salai

    Pazhuvettarayars depicted as Chera Kings

Rajendra's mother is called vanavan mathevi a thirukovilur princess?
  • Dear Shri. Sri,

All the three articles are very informative and paving way for
    intensive and purposeful discussions.

They covered the religious aspects of Thanjai Rajarajeswaram -
    Karuvurar - hear-say stories etc.,

They also covered Sundarar - Cheramanperumal nexus - calling Adi
    Sankara as their contemporary!

They also covered a comparitive history of Chola - Chera Dynasties.
As you rightly pointed out, Pazhuvettarayar as Chera King! There are
several Panjavanmadevis - who are supposed to be the daughters of
various Pazhuvur Kings, married to those in Chola Thrones!

I am sure, Gokul, Kamal, Ram, Krupa, Lavanya, Pavithra and others are
also thrilled by the sensational material. I know for sure, that
already Gokul, Kamal and others are having some excellent materials
    to off-load.

I would like to make a humble suggestion to our PS Group:

    (1) If a small group - within our large Group - scan through all the
2864 mails and provide highlighs - related to the above subjects -
    Rajarajewaram - Sundarar - Cheramanperumal - Pazhuvettarayar -
Panjavanmadevi - Kandalurchalai -& other Chera mentions - then it
would be easier to have the gist compared against your present three
    mails;

    (2) We can provide the materials to the acknowledged historians and
    quickly verify facts, filter and provide a synopsis;

    (3) Obviously we have to compare them with Sastry - Pandarathar -
SRB - Sethuraman and other great historians and arrive at agreeable
    views.

I am not able to foresee whether PS shall continue to be the platform
for such intensive discussion or should we take it to Varalaru. In
that case, we can make a mention to PS Group that such detailed
    discussion is on-going in Varalaru.

We would love to organise a Seminar in Tamilnadu if persons of your
calibre are able to attend the same from such a long distance.

Looking forward to receive more purposeful similar materials,

    With best regards, SB
  • Dear Sri,
The article on cheras is very useful - covers lot of unknown info.
Certain doubts naturally raise - since the author has not given
evidence to some of the facts - but overall it is very good.

The location of udagai has been a subject of debate among the
historians - and so is the information of kulasekara azhvar and
cheraman perumal. In fact it is not possible to date the period of
these two saints with such an accuracy.

We will take these up for discussions in the days to come.
  • --Dear,

I watch Don Bradman, Sir Gary Sobers, Gawaskar & Tendulkar playing
the game. Great players! Great stuff ??! Dear Sri, Thanks for
setting the ground ablze. Other National players seem to be
watching!! Common - join the bunch and enjoy. Fondly, SB
