Kamal : Ungalukkuthan ippadi patta soopar idea ellam varum ! Jamayungal !! I'll be missing the yathirai this year also :-(((
SB : Agreed - the places should be slightly different. Would be great if you could join the trip this time:-).
Overall, I'd suggest that we do enough study about the place and temples before going. Last time pazhuvoor and kadamboor were almost completely missed. Dr.Kalaikkovan has done extensive research on paluvoor temples - his books on paluvoor are highly recommended (pazhuvoor pudaiyalgal etc.)
SRB has written extensively about the amirta kateswara temple of kadamboor. Dr.Nagasamy has also written about it. It is one of the very few temples in the shape of a chariot (others being rajarajeswaram and chakkarapalli ??). It belongs to kulothunga period I believe.
All the best for the members who are going to make it this time.
Dear Gokul (Hvy Wt) as Sri rightly pointed out, Good line of thinking :
1. Whether AK was married ? 2. Which child was deserted by Vanavanmadevi - when Sundara died? 3. When was RR born?
Let us post these qns to Dr. KKVN / Kudavoil / Rajavelu / Thiagarajan. Let us also scan through Sethuraman and others for answers.
Dear Ramnath, I could NOT get hold of Sastry's photo in Mysore. Today I visited ASI Chennai to locate one. I will scan and post it asap.
Dear Karthikeyan, Avudayarkoil is South East of Pudukkottai on Meemimisal route; Kudumiyanmalai is almost west of Pdkt. Narthamali on Trichy - Pdkt route - after Keeranur. Thirumayam is Pdkt - Karaikkuri / Thirupathur route - south west. To see these places, you can station at Pudukkottai. Kamal may add : We have a knowledgeable person at Pdkt - maintaining some good Library.
