There is enough evidence to the theory that:

1. Sundara Cholan ruled from Nandhipuram - near Thirukkandiyur;
2. He and his wife died and Vananavanmadeswaram Pallipadai was built
there;
3. This Nandhipuram is different from Pazhayarai Nandhipuram
4. Pon maligai exited there which was destroyed by Maalikapur :
Amir Kusru : " .. On 15.3.1311, Maalikapur invaded Dwarasamudram...
The Hindu King was deserted by his Muslim followers .. He escaped to
Kandiyur .. He caught 250 elephants .. Destroyed the Temple ..
Heavenly looking PON temple and looted heaps precious stones..On
4.4.1311 he destroyed the City and within 5 days reached Madurai"

5. Veerapandya II ascended to throne and ruled this place till 1380.
6. This is on the route of : Chidambaram - Mayavaram - Srirangam
where Muslims invaded and caused heavy damages.
7. For example Rajakesari Chathurvedi mangalam has become Rajagiri
with full muslim population.
