freinds, there is a row of beutifull european buildings in nagapatnam first line beach road. most of them belonging to 1500-1900 AD. there are a few churches atleast one dating to 1660-built by portugese after they were driven by dutch(?before). this first line beach road is similiar to the pondicherry beach road. but the tourism and awareness about this area is poor. most people skip nagai because of its remotenesss from trichy and chennai
at least one building which presently holds the nagai museum is very goo and possibly an european administrative office. one can view the port from the terrace of this building(an excellent photographic oppurtunity. beutifull entertaintment for children to see the river joining the sea and the small ships entering inland).
nagai torist potential is immense even the court building and the kayogaraneswarar temple are must see for history interested people.
last but not the least is thenagore dhargah which is 400 years old. it has an interesting hindu-muslim fusion of building style and prayer too.
