Kudavoil Balu introduced me one Professor of Thanjai Tamil University - who got Doctorate in Tamilnadu Buddhism.. He said he found a sitting Buddha (small) idol in a private collection of farmer (near Papanasam / Thanjai) who performs Abhishekam and worships it as Ayyanar !
I am sure you are also aware of the fact that about 3 months back, in Kudavoil village - about 35 Bronze buddha statues were unearthed and handed over to Thanjai collector. They are preserved there itself.
