  • Dear Gokul,

    Interesting.

I read recently that in ancient days - Silk was woven in Kanchipuram
and PATTUKKOTTAI - about 50 Kms east of Pudukkottai - about 30 Kms
South East of Gandarvakottai. Pattukkottai got its name because of
Silk industry! Today, there is no such activity to my knowledge.
Whenever we read of Silk - immediately we think of SEENATHUP PATTU
(Chinese Silk). In PS, Arumozhi & VT trying to sell silk - in
disguise - to the princesses scene remains always green in our
    memory.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

    Fondly, SB
