Thiruvandar Koil - called Vadugur in Sambandar thevaram.

Sung by Sambandar. The temple is on the Villupuram Pondy road. The temple was reconstructed by Parantaga Chola.






சுடுகூ ரெரிமாலை யணிவர் சுடர்வேலர்
கொடுகூர் மழுவாளொன் றுடையார் விடையூர்வர்
கடுகூர் பசிகாமங் கவலை பிணியில்லார்
வடுகூர் புனல்சூழ்ந்த வடுகூ ரடிகளே.

This temple has Chola Miniatures. The most intresting are.

1. Vali worshipping Siva. Ravana trying to attack him from behind. Knowing this Vali lengthens his tail and ties Ravans all the 20 hands.

Sambandar refers this inncident in Vada Kurangaduthurai Thevaram.

The gurukkal said that one dwarapalaka belongs to Pallava period and another to Chola period but could not confirm which is chola and which is pallava.
