In the Maniachi Railway station near Tirnunelveli, Freedom fighter Vanchinathan SHOT DEAD then British Collector ASH at about 1030 AM on 17.6.1911.

Demised Collector Ash's Grandson has now sent a letter of " Regret - Forget the unpleasant past and extending the hand of cordinality " to the grandchildren of Freedom fighter Vanchinathan through a Professor Venkatachalam on this 100th Memorial year !!
