1. Rajaraja assumed the role of Sivapathsekaran during the later part of his life time. Inscriptions show this name existed atleast from his 21st Year.. Means about 1006 AD onwards.
In 1006 AD several things have happened ::
1. The big temple Foundation was laid in thanjavur.
2. Kshetrabalar Temple construction commended in thiruvalanchuzhi by his Crown Queen Danthi Sakthi Vidangi @ Olagamadevi.
3. The same year their daughter Kundavai commenced construction of another Rajarajecharam in Dhadhapuram (near Esalam / Tindivanam :: ref SRB books).
4. The same Krishnan Raman - who constructed MADHIL for the Big Temple - constructed this Dhadhapuram temple.
5. Kundavai also constructed Karivaradhaperumal in this area in 1006 AD.
6. Kundavai Jinalayam also constructed in 1006 AD in the same Esalam area.
Even some one lists out the inscriptions of the 22nd, 23rd to 29th years of RRC, there will be very minimum ( most of them scribed in 25th year ) and CONSOLIDATED INSCRIPTIONS ARE ATTRIBUTED to his 29th Year..
7. Aanamangalam Copper Plates - now known as Leyden Grants - related to grant of Anamalangalam Village to NAGAI Buddha Vihar was done in the year 1010 AD - 25th year
This makes us realise that almost from 21st to 25th year - RRC was focussing on preparatory activities of various Temples of Secular in nature !!
After the Consecration of PERUVUDAYAR - 26 to 29 HE FOCUSSED MOSTLY ON THANJAI ALONE..
Inscriptions found at Melpadi - 29th year - do depict his visits to such memorials prior to his specific agenda.
in 1012 AD he makes RRC - YUVARAJA from Madhandanayakkan.. !!
In 988 AD - Rajendra piloted Kandalurchalai battle.
Almost for next 25 years he was MADHANDANAYAKKAN - SUPREME COMMANDER OF ALL THE FORCES ( Army / Navy).. He is Nominated as Yuvaraja only in the fag end of RRC life line..
This is because of the BITTER EXPERIENCE of declaring Adithakarikalan as Yuvaraja by Sundara in very early stage.
Rajendra should have been about 40 - 42 years by then... Married.. having children and was closely associated with an Anukki Nagai Paravai.
will continue... 002

On a parallel note - it is surprising that the meikeerthi of Maravarman Sundara Pandian mentions that he brought down Tanjore and Uraiyur - but nothing about GKC??
