I was first mesmerized by their interpretation of Mayamalavagowla (in a movie track) and Bhairavi Swarajathi (Resonance). What is rather unique is the fresh and innovative Genre of music created by Shri. VS Narasimhan and his group. Their interpretation of the Carnatic Classical music with a Western Classical String Quartet arrangement, is rather unique, original and utterly soothing. Their albums (Resonance, Raaga Saga) have received rave reviews. You can sample some of the tracks on the Youtube - (Thyagaraja's Mokshamu Galada in Raga Saramathi). There are many other tracks as well!
This music, I am confident, will equally appeal to the connoisseur as well as the uninitiated listener of Carnatic music, as long as one has an open mind!
