It was Indhumathi's Tharayil irangum vimanagal's - Parasu !! - who prompted me to visit American Library - and of course the Drive-In woodlands !! with Masal dosa / Chennai parotta or Coffee !!
Chenna parotta was just added to the Menu - from the regular ones !!
Though I found the British Council offered a wider collection (read Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's 7 Consciousness etc., ) I was thrilled to visit American Library those years !!
I am able to realise .. DRIVE-IN has moved into a past .. and now a History...
Recently when i heard Annakkili song .. recalled the lines :
" Urangadha kankalukku olai kondu mai ezhudhi .."
I realised using a Palm-leave mid stem for making over eyes !!
a tradition becoming Past even in the villages .. !!
this line has recorded that tradition !!
Somehow we are able to preserve 1000 + year old traditions / records..
Recent ones are getting extinguished fast.
Venkat / Muruganandam and friends used to feel we hardly discuss literature..
