The temple assumes the name of Goddess Parasakthi who is believed to have killed a Rakshasha in the form of Kali Amman. Most of the Villages are having the Kali Amman temple and the Festival is generally in the month of Chitirai. This is nothing but “Kali Attam”. The Kali go around the villages and people do the poojas from their houses. In some villages there are two Kali Amman namely Pachyai Kali (Green) and Pavazha (Red) Kali.
