Greetings from Swaminathan
  • Dear Dr Swaminathan
At the outset i would like to congratulate you on such a wonderful mail...one thing is certain next time I am in India my mother is not going to be very pleased as my tasks outside my home are growing and list of peoples to meet is growing...
Can I have your permission to publish your contents in our egroup...
You echo my sentiments of not preserving our holistic heritage...the small amount of people involved are interested in the greats like cholas and pallavas....Not thats thats not right but theres more to be done...
I am not sure if you have visited our site or recieved emails lately....we are planning to launch a Ponniyin Selvan Varalatru Peravai to address these various issues and see what we can do to improve awareness and preserve our heritage.
As you rightfully said...in The West prehistoric sites are all well preserved the sarum and white horse of uffington are all very good examples.
We need something like that in India Yes it will become litter ridden but do you really thgink people care to visit fossil parks my bet is they would rather spend their time in one of the theme parks than these But we would put tamilnadu strongly on the Fossoil map of India
Keep us posted on the progress of the Cultural Atlas
