Why did they change the dates? Generally it will end along with Pongal...Mostly it will be a day out of many chennaivasis on Bogi... Thats when they get the max crowd. If they are missing Bogi, they are going to miss a considerable crowd too....

Someone once told me that, the nayanmars were the clan who didnt even wish for 'veedu peru' (moksham) where as Maickavasagar says 'meyye un ponnadigal kandindru veedutren'. not sure how far its true, but makes sense. Satish
