Hi, I guess it has something to do with Kalki himself. I remember reading somewhere, that he indirectly means himself with the title Ponniyin selvan, the pinnacle of the novel he wrote.

Most complete character in PS
Yeah, as you said, this is a topic that we never discussed (????) I guess. I feel, Kundavai's is one of the most complete characters in PS. Her love for her country, her family and her love for a commoner are all very well written.
