If you see Discovery's coverage on Big temple one of the reasons they say why Indian Temples didnt become as fa,ous as the Indian Mosques and Mogul art was there was explicit eroticism like in Khajuraho and Ajanta and even in south indian temples and this offended the pious 18th century missionaries etc????
I believe that our (Indian and especially Tamil) attitude is very hypocritical. We have a Kamaththuppaal. We have sanga ilakkiyangaL where love and sex are celebrated. And then we have the so called "Tamizh culture protectors" who find fault with what Khushboo said. I suppose Tamizhs were all conceived by God or found under a cabbage patch ;)
It is as if, the Kamasutra was written in some other country. I find this attitude completely puzzling.
