jewels of tamilnadu
  • the novel moonstone revolves around the efforts of a britisher who
steals an eye of ranganathar.how generations of priests haunt his
    family.

the other eye was made of paste i guess

the first historic mention of kohinoor was in warrangal 1314 when
malik kafur invades. from there to delhi to malwa to delhi to kabul to
lahore to london. my the gem has indeed travelled.

but then it is also rumoured to be the samanthaka gem of lord krishna.

pandiyan rathina haaram is mentioned perhaps only once in rajendrans
meikeerthi.( any more plese tell me)

golconda before it dried up was the source of fabulous gems.

please discuss the gem and its powers in sandilyans novel for those
    who havent read it.
  • So did they all ended in Moghul hands?

This "Sen Kathi Malai" looks something special... If
it reached the Moghuls, there must be a mention of it
    somewhere...

Or it is still burried somewhere waiting for an
    archeologist ?

While I lived in Madurai, a sub-editor in Dinamani
magazine told me that the last Pandian king at Madurai
left his crown and sword hidden in a temple at Alagar
Kovil and to be recovered yet. Infact they were
planning an expedition of that sort!
