Dr. Kudavoil has brought out a book on Gopurakalai - which formed base for his Doctorate.
A friend of him, Contemprary Architect Mr. Rajendran of Thanjavur (who has specialised cost effective homes and rendered assistance to State Government to build some in Nagapattinam after Tsunami) - is studying the details of CHOZHA PERIOD CONSTRUCTION - TEMPLES AND SECULAR BUILDINGS (Like Palaces / Towers etc,). He has excellent collection of bricks / various data related to Chozha monuments as obtained from various escavation sites like Maaligaimedu (GKC), Thanjai etc. He is a Structural Engineer himself.
I was introduced to this gentleman 2 -3 yrs back by Dr. Kudavoil and they presented a lovely power point programme on the temple of construction of Big temple from the Structural designs angle.
We can organise a programme in Chennai or in Thanjai within 2 - 3 months on the technicalities and finer aspects of Chozha monuments.
