Dear All Kalki might have been inspired by Dumas one may even say he plagerised a few charectors...but one should take a few things into consideration
Dumas' wrote novels of his time Count of Monte cristo and Three Musketeers (story line 150n years before his time) and the charectors were much limited
however Kalki wrote a magnum opus in a historical form when no one else was doing it (I may be wrong here) His story line was 1000 years ago...so everything had to come from his mind of course with a historic background
thats what makes him great...
so many people were inspired by Godfather including Mani rathnam nad Ram Gopal Verma(atleast the later acknowledges stating that was the inspiration) but every one leave their mark
I read somewhere Sandilyans heros were inspired by Captain Blood
