In Tamilnadu, sivarathri has been celebrated last nite in some temples and also tonite in most of the temples.
Arjunan getting pasupatham is reportedly occured on sivarathri day.
Interestingly this incidence figures in RRC / RjC period miniatures / murals etc.
In the bigtemple entrance itself it is carved.
Srisailam is famous for Sivarathri festivals. This year in Thiruvidaimaruthur (after recent Kumbabishekam) it is being celebrated in very good scale..
Bagwan Sathya Saibaba, H H Ravishanakar Guruji and Isha Dyana Linga trust are also celebrating in big scale..
Mahaswamigal's writings on sivarathri pooja in Deyvathin Kuarl well serve as reference regarding this.
Thirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam has published a small handbook on "Sivarathri Pooja" and has been distributing at Venkatanarayana Road temple since this morning.

there are many temples staking a claim for this event. but the one which comes closest is the paspathiswarar in thiruvetkalam. this small temple is within annamalai university on the outskirts of chidambaram.
