  • Dear Bala

very nice gesture bala well done

At a point of view it may look like a pulambal, which needs a "big
hearty laugh"to talk about the language apart from our profession.
    But it is not.

all these centres are remnants from a colonial era except the american and german....
they all have a cultural wing to the embassy unfortunately with india its the north indian aspects which are largely promoted...If you go to the british high commision in london or birmingham you ll have posters of sadhus with grubby heads and beggars posters amidst kerala, the taj and mamallapuram..
you have people with no knowledge of india who cannot speak english in the counters...no toilet facilities no photocopiers ...(Vijay must have a dejavu as we spoke about this two weeks ago)

Centres all over the World (named Tamil Cultural
Institute, tamil chair presently there are only 4 tamil chair in
india out of one in Bhubaneswar)

I beg to differ there is a tamil chair in london, Germany ,california to name a few outside india
Infact the asian studies centre has so many palm leaves which came here during the raj...which the brits have refused to return but agreed to have a fellow visit every year to study them and guesss what its politicians next of kin who get to spend a year here to spend time in soho and oxford street...

Imagine Western Women gradually going crazy to wear Sarees and Kanchipuram and other Sarees being exported to the Western
countries, like how the Westerners have made the young Tamil Girls
of TamilNadu crazy with Denim Trousers and Cotton Tee-Shirts.

Westerners like our silk sareers are difficult but they love to make dresess out of them...one of my bosses' cousins marraige was in hyderabad and a few brits came for the wedding and all the women stuffed their bags with pattu sarees from t nagar one even decided to wear a blouse and sareee and the whole wedding was smiling at her till my boss pointed to hear and said''my dear you are wearing the blouse the wrong way the bit for the breasts should be in the front''....and she goes 'oh thanks i was wondering why i am struggling to breath in this outfit''

Why not make the tamil girls of the west who are used to dancing
Waltz and BallRoom Dance etc to dance Kummi & Koll Attams & Baratha
Natyam with long plats,Malligai poo & kunjams!!!! during their tamil
    functions

I dont know about the US it happens hear in UK...all the kids from madras who live hear learn bhratham or tabla...

there are about six of us who send our kids to the same school and the kids did a performance of ramayaana and danced with kalattam and all...the head teacher was so impressed he got my son to tll the story of ramayana and the asothoma satgamaya slokum in the school xmas programme...we were streessed he was cool for a five year old...

so its happening but not as good as the ones you have said...##

to start with we need a visitor info centre in every state capital every saarc capital and big western capitals where you have people with linguistic abilities in local dialect as well as tamil giving visitors iformation so they know india is not just golden triangle
