god amarabuyangar-devar
  • Hi,

god amarabuyangar-devar - who does his refer to in below inscription

    http://www.whatisindia.com/inscriptions/south_indian_inscriptions/vol
    ume_22/part_1/rajaraja_1.html

    No. 143 (Page No 119)

    (A. R. No. 143 of 1906)

South Arcot District, Tirukkoyilur Taluk, Elvanasur

Gramardhanatha Temple-On The North Wall Of The Same Prakara

    Rajarajadeva I â€" 24th Year (A.D. 1008-9)

The characters of the inscription seem to be later than the period
of the king. This records an endowment of land at the hamlet
Kunjiramangalam after purchase by a certain Vasishtan Tiruviraman
Tiruvarangan of Iraiyanaraiyur to the temple of Urudaiya-Mahadevar
of the place to provide for offerings to god amarabuyangar-devar (?)
during the three services in the temple.

Portion after line 24 does not seem to belong to this record. It
mentions a grant of kasu to the temple by the chief Uttamasola-Miladu
[daiyar] for offerings to the god. With this amount the temple
authorities are stated to have purchased a land inclusive of tax-
    payment.
