your comments please kalinga_tamil@yahoo.co.in 12.10.2007 In search of submerged land of ancient period of 49 nadu of pandiiyan kingdom as mentioned in our anicent texts, with the help of remote sensing softwares, i identified few spots on the coastal of kadiapattinam surroundings .
in this background,to compare my virtual with reality ,proceeded to Nagarkovil with Mr.pandurangan after consultation with Mr.Adiyaman of marine archealogy of Tanjore tamil university.
when we reached nagarkovil our friend Mr. senthee natarajan ready with all arrangemnts. we had a detailed discussion with senier researcher Dr.padmanaban a specialist on kumarikandam research.at the same time had adetailed discussion over phone with Mr.santhalingam incharge archealogist of kaniyakumari district on our attempts.
before starting from chennai ,had a long discussion with Maxi Gandhi Dy superintendent on this issue
We along with with Mr.john of kadiapattinam started survey with Managudi to Irivan puthan thurai on shore beach for 20 km.
intracted with fishermans,seniors,local villagers and divers of mukrose community.
we got confiremed by the locals ,submerged structures are findings there on offshore of that area,made arrangemtns for the vallam for the next day morning and returned to nagarkovil with satisfied moods.
On 13.10.2007 started with Mr.John to kadiapattinam and proceed to the sea with Dass and Raja . we reached the spots on thoorini where the structures are there below 45 feet with scultptures noted the GISpoints then proceeded to Aadu meichan paarai find the slanting pillar and noted the GIS points then went to keikal for another spots /
Now its clearly concluded, there are possiblities of submerged structures availiable 45 km area started from mankudi to kolachal area on sea within the 7km radius.
as every one know about hypothisis of lemuria kandam and kumari kandam but we are unable to prove archealogically, but now atleast we can able to located the submerged lands which mentioned in our ancient texts with the help of remote sensing methods.
Furhter research on this issue may reveal the antiquity of our tamil culture in near by futures.
This whole attempt are started by me on my dream project of kalingatamil relations (contemporary of kalingatamil since 6th century Bc)
The above projects are related to kalingaking kharavela connections with pandiyan kingdom during 2nd century BC.
