Hi, I would like to start a discussion, there is one interesting thing in Sangam literature, There are poems uttered by Him Her Her friend Her mother Bard People who passed by the eloping lovers concubines
But there is not even a single song by either father of the Hero or father of Heroine!
This makes me think of some situations, one either Akam poems were totally dedicated to women, since poem Uttered by Him are describing womens beauty and poems uttered by bard is specifically a message from either hero to heroine or vise versa...
Or other the father was always engaged in war and was away....
Women were totally independent, they never consulted any one since whenever they feel they wanted to elope with the hero they did!
But all these are just my imaginative thoughts...it would be great if members of the group share their views about this interesting situation of Sangam Literature.
