We all are aware of the MURUGA TEMPLE at SALUVANKUPPAM near Tiger Cave on the way to Mallai. It is dated to SANGAM PERIOD. Now under the Control of ASI.
We also understand (through our dear Gokul) that the MYSORE inscriptions have been / are being moved to THANJAI TAMIL UNIVSITY for digitalising...
MP Sudharsana Nachiappan - when spoke to me earlier - has observed that he can allocate some building fund ( 40 to 50 lakhs) for Public purpose - like PSVP.
Clubbing all these we can move THREE RESOLUTIONS ::
1. Thanking ASI for bringing Tamil inscriptions to TN;
2. PSVP & REACH will join in rendering technical support in reconstruct SANGAM PERIOD MURUGA TEMPLE at Saluvankuppam.. In this connection, Government of Tamilnadu and Central Government are requested to do the needful to revive worship in this Muruga Temple - which was under worship atleast till the 11th Century AD. Hon'ble Minister Periakaruppan has agreed to render support already.
3. Hon'ble MP Sudharsana Nachiappan can put a proposal to Goverment to create a TAMIL LIBRARY at par / bettering what has been BURNT in Yazhpanam - Sri Lanka...
PSVP will contribute not less than 500000 (five lakhs) Tamil books when commissioned.
Pls consider the above also during course of discussion..
Dignitary list will have to include Hon'ble HRCE Minister Periyakaruppan also. Once okayed we will invite him, Thangam Thennarasu & Sudharsana Nachiappan in person.
I am for it. REACH will surely take up this Murugan temple renovation with proper support from all ministries. I can collect all Tamil books of heritage and of rarity for the library as much as I can. As for the Aug 15 venue, is anything fixed? You want me to find out and ask dates in Tatvaloka? Our proposed resolutions re " SANGAM TEMPLE FOR MURUGA " will be reaching the Seats of Power for sure - for consideration.
Tentatively the Venue is being considered at FILM CHAMBER, near Rani Seethai Hall - Annasalai - Chennai.
Timing will be 15th August evening.
Minimum about 500 participants expected.
Myself and Venkat along with Dr. Sathyamurthy will be meeting Kavipperarasu by Thursday / Friday and then indicate final programme.
Our Dear member Vizag Dhivakar has agreed to coordinate with other Tamil Sangams like Delhi, Vizag, Bharathi, Mumbai, Karnataka - and bring request for Reconstruction of Muruga Temple as it was in Sangam period !!
Under the Chiefministership of Dr. Kalaignar, 133 feet tall Thiruvalluvar erected in Kanyakumari... Prior to that Valluvar kottam !!
Let us hope the " KUMARA KOTTAM OF SANGAM AGE " at Salauvankuppan becomes the True Landmark of Chennai Coast !
Re Tamil Library - as our dear Chandra already pointed out enthusiastically - we can mobilise more than 500000 Tamil books easily !!
feeling great about the function but i feel this and our ps meet should be held independent of each other.lets not link the two. what has brought us all together is the love for ps and group members should be treated to an exclusive celebration of the novel.
