  • Dear SPS and Friends

As you have probably noticed I am responding to different bits of
your mails as individual mails and subject This helps the Chain and
    archiving.

    > That was a codified way of communication. Like wise any such
method was > followed in those days by the Kings to send and receive
important messages -> was my inquisiteness. Kalki writes
of "Owling " " Lighting of flame-> torches " (Like striking matches
in Robert Ludlum's novels) being some > forms of communications.

There are a few examples of communication forms in our sarithira
novels...Kadalpura describes the large pigeons and the fine silk
embedded in the wings as a form of communication in those days...If I
am right Sandilyan gives historic evidence for that...

Homing Pigeons were used by all civilisations but the message was
tied on to their feet as opposed to the technique described by
    Sandilyan

Second is the Light signs which he used in Yavanarani once as a
communiction form between Karikalan and Samanathuravi in Vanji and
Second between The Rani and Karikalan in Puhar..

again ancient people have been innovative in using lights as a means
    of sign language
