I was surprised to learn from Kamal that none of the PS members have original PS in their collection
I am happy to inform the members that I do have one thanks to my mother's efforts
The following piece of information will help us understand the the real magnitude of her efforts.
It was before her marriage and she was living with my grandmother and my second uncle in Kilimangalam ( our native village which is some 15 kms away from Mayiladuthurai). My third and last uncle was in Kmu with my eldest uncle. In between, my third uncle had to go to North India for his first job. You all will be aware of the intense interest that PS generated at that time. He wanted the Kalki issues to be sent to him every week after reading so that he can follow PS. ( Kalki magazine was not available at that place) For the entire period of six months my mother wrote down PS on sheets of paper every week and sent it to him so that the original could be collected and bound.
Additional titbit. We have most of Devans original works with Gopulu/Raju art as well.
Well Mangal I do have two versions of PS with maniam and vinus pictures I am not sure if they are from the original print or reprint though.
The habit of writing pages of the story I guess was common because I thought my parents were very obsessive when they used to write the story in a white sheet and use it for binding if there are two thodarkathais back to back.
I much prefer to read a collated bound book than a print edition. my parents used to bind all thodar kathais in kalki, anandhavikatan and kumudam and i used to do the same till I left for UK
The pictures of Vinu and Maniam in the files sections are from those collections
Dear Ramnath It has been done and is there for the last 2 years I have just scanned charectors as opposed to the whole book just to avoid any copy right issues If you go to the photos section its all there
DEar All I would strongly urge all the new members who havent seen aour files and photos to see them. There are loads of pictures which may interest you
