  • -Hi Sps

I vaugely remember sembiyan mathevi kalvettu in thiru vakkarai along
with a name called " kanda suriyan sambuvarayar"

was sembiyan mathevi not involved with this temple too?
  • I would like to add a word about thiru miyachuur.

there are 276 devaram shrines totally.

of these three are very different.
thiru pugalur, thiruvaarur and thiru miyachur.

all three have 2 shrines that have independent devaram hymns within
    the same compound.

miyachur and ilangkoil were sung by sambandar and appar respectively.

    the amman is called lalithaambikai.
  • Hi SPS

    There you are.
I remember the kalvettu at thiruvakkarai because of another name.
    KANDA SUURIYAN SAMBUVARAAYAN.
I always beleived kalki based his kanda maaran charecter on this
    name.
Kanda maaran is one of my favourite charecters in PS who I always
felt was bullied into a submissive role by kalki just to glorify
    vanthiyathevan.

    Dear SPS
very close to malapaadi village where sembiyan mathevi was born is a
    village called kandaraathiththam.
I have crossed it several times but next time I will stop and check if
    there is any temple there.
