The ANCHANEYA Temple there is told to be equivalent power to the one in NANGANALLUR, CHENNAI. the Poojas and other customs are also the same follwed in nanganallur. the construction of panchavati temple is not yet over. if u get time, pls do make a visit to Nanganallur and also to Panchavati.. the stones which are exhibited there are brought from RAMESWARAM only. A lot of collection of those stones are there in rameswaram. u can buy some pieces of them illegally from brokers in rameswaram.
very close to this place are three devara sthalangkal
one is thiru vakkarai ( sembiyan madevi fame)
the other two are quite close to the panchavadi temple. arasili and irumbai maakaalam.
the second temple has a lingam which has split into three pieces due to a curse and is bound by a copper band.lots of foreigners come from auroville to meditate in this dilapitated temple every pournami.
