RECORDING EVENTS
  • Dear Rahul,

U are absolutely right.. Thanks for bringing this up..

In Malayalam & Telugu (not much familiar with Kannada friends), they
Head of the Family maintains the FAMILY NAME and each house used to
display this name. We find that in their Pass port / Wedding
    invitations etc.

For some reasons, this practice is dispensed with .. as could be seen
    from Sangam period names.

When I read KANE AND ABEL novel about a decade back, I put two things
    in practice.

Presented a Diary to my daughter and son. To record every important
event / trips etc. To make a Year book, their birth day party, school
    picnic photos, friends etc.

    Other thing is :

Assume one has about Rs. 100000 ear-marked to put in Stock market /
buy Gold / siver .. kind of investment plan.

Record the investments like purchase - sale of shares / precious
metals, profit / loss for about a month and see by the end of the
month whether this 100000 has improved or not.

Now with NDTV Profit, CNN Business etc., things are much better..

Nevertheless, habit of recording events is very important and will be
very much over a period of time...

    Nagarathars have better systems too.

  • A street in Pondicherry is named after him (
Rangapillai Street ) and also the house where he lived
is still preserved ( some heirs are living there I
believe ) it is on the same street ...
