Colours in Temple compounds

    We find that many temples have their walls, mainly compounds painted
    in alternate white and kavi colours. Whats the significance of this
    and when did this come in to practice? Any ideas? I assume it should
    be something recent.

    I had listen to this concept in one of Suki Sivan's discourses on Saivism. Its a delight to hear him speak.
