Simple way to remember certain BASIC HISTORICAL DATA :
i) Pallavas : Peak period Mahendra 600 - 630, Narasimha next 30 / 40 yrs, Rajasimhan next 20 years .. decline later around 700 and Nandhivarman I, ii etc.. to end of 890 or so .. which will tally with
ii) VIJAYALAYA - Medival Chozhas establishing around 850 AD - Prithvipathi war - Parantaka around 910 to 950 - more than 40 years, Kandraditha, Sundara, Uthama and RRC 985 AD.
iii) Rajendra 1012 - 1042, then his sons .. their rule end 1070 AD.
iv) Rajendra's daughter's side KULOTHUNGA Rules commenced and lasted till say 1200 or so..
v ) MADURAI MEETTA SUNDARAPANDIAN subsequently .. that spell ran to next 100 years ..
vi) MALIK GAFUR Tamilnadu Invasion :: 1320 or so ...
v) VIJAYANAGARA KINGDOM -- 15th Century
vi) The BRITISH :: 1600 AD Robert clive purchased Chennai from Arcot Nawab ..
vi) NAYAKS / SARFOJIS during this period 1700 - 1800
To fix Vatapi, Narasihma Pallava, the date will be around 660 AD or so !
