today and kalki
  • Hi
this is going to be a lovely thread

though he was to be known as a historical writer kalki loved
technological improvements. he has written pages about how the radio
    would change life.
he should listen to our fm channels today.
kalki's last story described the hydrogen bomb test which were only a
    few months old.
so certainly computers and the net and nano tecnology and heart
transplants would have crept into the fertile imagination of mr.
    krishnamurthy.
and ofcourse the puthumai pen of barathi lives in kalki's charecters.
    it would have been great.
how if we could programme a computer to pick up kalki's attitudes
and accents and make it write a novel or a short story with the
    inputs of today.

  • I see Kalki is strongly influenced by the present day happenings which
gets reflected in the book. A number of his writings reflects the
freedom struggle. If he is alive today I think at least one of his
articles or fiction would be about the regional conflicts between
    Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
  • Hi

kalki was never one to mince words even on previous friends.
he came out strongly on native run goverments in madras state.
    whenever they erred.

but i have a strong feeling thatwere kalki alive today he would be
lock stock and barrel into the movies.
he would have thrown away the pen for the camera.
his passion for movies was unabated and rarely satisfied in his
    lifetime.
a strong undercurrent of his creative energies made him feel he could
always do a better job than others( must have been vasan)
