of course we can start later when newer developments come on. and i am sure the wonderful discussion we had will spur on everybody to do research on their own.
on my part i have decided to spend a day at chidambaram temple ( i have my college reunion on 18th this month there) and see if structurally there are some clues to the positioning of the perumal.
of course developments in the news ought to be shared on this forum. as far as various interpretations we shall give some time for people to retrospect on the discussions held. venketesh
I had actually deleted the reply as I was not going to post it in the forum. Anyway, on a hindsight, I do recollect that it was only "araicha mAvu" and nothing new. So if you are still interested, I will frame it and send you personally with a copy to Vijay.
Otherwise, it was a beautiful weekend as my wife was yelling at me too, and she got a huge support from my kids as well. Now I hope you understand why I envy all of you!!! Ha Ha Ha.
Thanks for including me in the family. I am learning a lot here. I am reading all the previous posts one by one, but as I am late to join, they are enormous. Will take years to complete the reading at cost of my wife's yelling :-)
Today's Dinamalar tamil daily (Chennai Edn) reports that Sriramanujar Dasan of a Sri Vaishnavite Forum has approached Madras High Court re the movie - seeking certain modifications .!
I want to record my hearty appreciations to yourself ::
You have listened to other's views and responded positive.
And chosen words carefully not to disrupt the harmony.
Thanks for the encouraging words. I just read that and posted my comments in Dinamalar as well. I dont know if it will be published.
However it is really funny to note that this person jumping to conclusions regarding Kamal's character in the movie. I (and we) could not conclude anywhere that he is playing Ramanuja. Then where is the question of faulting the history there.
I dont know about stepping on Om and Bhagavadh Gita, but definitely like one of the "self styled atheists" had asked in the comments why was a case not filed for other movies, where definitely the Hindu symbols of ThiruNeeru and ThirumAN were made fun off.

hi sps
just today morning i has the (mis) fortune of watching a song from movie kana kaden playing on one of the tamil channels here. do you recognise the location....chandra - neengalum paarungal - tarangampadi ..
> THARANGAMBADI has somehow caused some major impact for almost since > 10 years.. > > That is a nice belt .. while driving out of Thirunallar (Pondy > state), before reaching Tharangambai, we cross the Rajiv Gandhi > statue unveiled (during Mani shanker Iyenger's last stint) at > PORAIYAR.
porayar is an important place where the second printing press after go was installed. it was ahead of printing done even in many european countries.
> In the TSUNAMI debacle, Tarangampadi was one of the worst-hit > areas .. and the Panchayat Head (at the time) being my personal > friend, recalled the episode similar to Citizen - in the post > Tsunami relief operation !
karaikal was perhaps the epicentre of the hit. tarangambadi being some 12 km from it was smashed.
i was in thirukadaiyur 8 km from tarangambadi just after the tsunami hit. i was propably crossing pondy cuddalore when it actually struck.
