Our Dear Vijay is in Chennai on private visit and attended REACH meeting in Uthiramerur this Sunday and taken photos of the temple which is being renovated.
Prof Swaminathan has been kind enough to make a power point progm on Tamil Brahmi.
Considering these, a meeting in Prof Swaminathan's place Mandaveli, Chennai (near Busstand) is organised tomorrow 630 pm.
R.Venkat & Venkateswaran have already confirmed.
Other members also requested to confirm participation.

thanks for the kind words. it was a privilege to be part of this noble effort.
it was a great trip with chandra - we started by 8 am, picking up various people on the way .....we had a mixed group in the car - me the driver asking all the tricky questions, chandra playing moderator, we had a vaishnava vedic expert ( ahaa), a epigrapist and an illustrator....what a gang. in no time we ran through everything under the sun jogging past centuries and various controversies....that we even missed the mandatory pit stop - we had to contend with waiting till we reach utiramerur for a hot idly, vada, pongal at ambi mess....
by which time chandra had already got repeated calls on his phone - co ordinating the different teams that we enroute...
our frist stop was the perumal temple... peaceful temple, sudhai images, cleanly maintained and most interesting sudhai images - wooden pedestels with paintings.....for the spiritually inclined.
for the historically inclined, we were overjoyed to read the first culvert...
swatir sri thirmagal pola peru nilach selviyum......our beloved RRC culvert....
after that we adjorned to the kailasantha temple renovation site.. i was literally reduced to tears seeing the crumbling temple - chandra led an amazing meeting of reach, meantime we had a sublime darshan of the magnificent linga who despite all the destruction around him, encased us with his spell. the space behind the linga was blank - maybe had the pallava trade mark of somasskanda.....the granite base and the brick gopuram had come out of the battle with the elements for 1300 years and had fared a bit on the losing side...vegetation too had played its park in creating a la ankorian feel with thick roots encasing the brick n mortar gopuram....
we had an expert on epigrahy read the inscriptions on the granite base of the temple - due paucity of time ( and the call of the perumal kovil puli yotharai) - we did only two
the first one...went
swastir sri tirumanni valara irunila madanthaiyum......Rajendra !!!!!!!
the one underneath was even older Pallava period inscriptions giving the items that had to be presented to the lord ...the listing of various amudus ...this led us back to the perumal temple for a sumptous meal of puli sadam, ( aanganeyar vadai for touching), ghee dripping chakara pongal and curd rice..we packed some for home too.
inbetween we also went to see the muruga temple...wow what a site....stone idol .....amazing grace...
we also had a chance to visit the consitution culvert - of parantaka ...
with found memories and heavy hearts we returned back thanking the lord for such excellant darshan and also relishing the opp to discuss further in our own amaturish way...chandra being tired started dozzing off and all of us with heavy stomachs - we reached chennai close to 3.30 pm....
