The Book That Changed Your Life
  • As usual SPS..

I think Sujatha would have influenced many a tamil readers. One of the
first weekly novels I read was 'meendum jeeno'

Just a couple of days back got a english translation of Tagore's
Gitanjali. Very first few poems struck me like anything. What a
spiritual treasure trove and I have missed it all these days.
WOndering if translation can be so good, how will the original be?

  • I did not realize we were talking about english books too. Definitely Richrd Bach gets full marks from me with his JLS this tiny book has influenced more people than any I know of. Illusions is equally brilliant. Elie Wiesel,s Night on the holocaust, Rk Narayan,s my days on simple origins of a great writer aremore. I beg to differ on how these books chnaged us - a book that leaves a footprint in our minds as opposed to fast food type rani muthus and sidney sheldons has changed us albeit in small ways. If I learn to think differetly than what I was before I have changed and that is credit due to the book and author.
