Mintamil Mr. kannan has observed that earlier initiatives were also there in this direction.
Wrote to him to get these in detail. ================
Dear Shri. Kannan sir,
This is sivapathasekaran SPS - of Ponniyinselvan yahoo group. We met in chennai (nungambakkam) during one of your visits a year back and together met prof. swaminathan also in my office.
I did attend the inaguration function of "tamilheritage" and put in a synopsis of the events later in our PS group.
" Tamil Heritage Foundation has started a Tamil Heritage Wiki long time back as part of their BLOG CMS portal. However, there was absolutely no response from anybody and gave up that idea. Of course we have Wikipedia initiative as well.
Dr.Kalyan of PM and us at THF of the opinion that Tamil Heritage Wiki of any sort should be a property of India or Tamil Diaspora and not by one of those US Monopoly of global information database.. "
I will be much obliged to receive the details of earlier initiatives so that we can post this in our PS group and helping recording the sequal of initiatives.... otherwise this will be like omission of Velurmutiny in Indian freedom fight.
Hope my request, on behalf of PS group, will merit your attention.
Dear SB sir, I have already sent the links to Min tamil, where I am a member, so has Poetry in stone - Vijay. Thanks for your promptnes and intnention to link all like minded people across the globe. Chandra
Mr. N Kannan and Subhashini Kanagasundaram have been put in efforts and time and there has been lack of response from varios quarters when this scheme announced earlier,
Mr. N.Kannan (myself and Venkateswaran Kasirajan attended their meet in Nungambakkam about a year back - pls ref Archieves) is much respected and one of the Pioneers with Dr. Kalyan, Dr. Jaybee and the like.
Meaning with more interaction with all concerned we will work out the module to make available the contents..
This also reinforces our earlier line of thinking that every member should develop the " blog " (write up with photographs ) of the matters-of interest to the members so that it becomes easier to link them when necessary with a larger base.
