    i shall summarise my texts this way
    1. patanjali of yoga sutra could not have lived in 5th centuryAD
    2.vyagrapadhar is mentioned in other places too. like velliambalam of
    madurai along with patanjali in thiruvilayadal puranam.
    3. their period hence should be some where in 2-3RD century BC.
    4. the nataraja cult is a pre-historic dancing ritual may be
    dravidian in origin
    5. the siva-ligam concepts and nataraja concepts got merged in that
    period
    6.the snake, tiger skin, thillai plants,muyalagan... identified with
    nataraja and chitambaram may be pre-historic practices which were
    conquered by arriving superior dravidian god.
    7.the dheekshidars might have arrived in chidambaram only in 6th
    century AD.
    8.hiranyavarman may have contributed to the temple or may have
    patronised dheekshidhars. he is not the pro-genitor of the temple.
    9. during the period of sngam age cholas chidambaram was not famous
    enough
    10. during the period of thirumoolar and karaikalammayar the town was
    lesser importance.
    11. but by a century later it grew into a paramount importance during
    appar -sambandar phase.
    12.it may be due to the fall of kalabrahs and arrival of
    dheekshidhars.
    13. tamil saiva siddhantham jelled during this period hence there was
    a need to to identify one sanctum as first significance.
    14. chidambaram and nearby pichavaram still has ample anthropological
    evidences to note the aboriginal elements into hinduism.

    pichavaram has nothing to interest you. dont waste your time there
    back waters and mangrove plants all around.
    movies of the 70 s usually filmed their climax there
    pichavaram became famous for the privacy it offered.
    usual haunt of courting couples from the nearby university.
