In the Dinamalar dt: 14.09.2009 Chennai Edition, Dr. Nagawwamy's article related to Kumbakonam Nageswarankoil inscription is published.
It is unique inscription - which supports the fact that Kulothunga II arranged bringingout Thiruthondarthogai in the name of Periyapuranam by his Minister Sekkizhar. This was so far supported based on Literary details only.
Thanks sps and VJ. When I visited Nageswaran koil this time I had the opportunity to learn about a maratha copper plate. This also talks about some donations given to Lord Madanthaippagar & the same mutt referred to in the article is mentioned. Behind the copper plate all music instruments have been inscribed.
Many traditions that continued uninterrupted for 800-900 years were lost in the last 150-200 years.
The famous ULA ( Religeious procession ) of Devaram Trio with Sivapatasekaran and Danthisakthividangi Bronzes - with Prime chandrasekaramurthy @ Thevaradevar - continued with inclusion of Manickavasagar - Sundarapandian etc. - as per Sivakozhundu - till late 19th Century !!
