Sung by Appar ( 2 Padigam), Sambandar ( 1 padigam). Sundarar had mentioned this thalam in other thevaram. We might have lost his thevaram.
Though i have visited this temple few times earlier, this visit is differnt as it is my first visit after joining this group. Now having associated with you all, now i could start appreciating things differently. ( Vj had changed me a lot)
The first one that struk to me is the dwarapalakas. Their Kreedam is different. It is like they are wearing the head of a lion. Is it unique to this temple are some other temples also have such dwarapalaks?
The backside of these dwarapalaks looks that they were attached some where. That may be this temple ( reconstructed) or belong to some other place.
The Vishnu as bore - with his conch and chakra-searching under the linga. His face and body language- deeply engrossed in the work - an expression of sincearity
Brahma - Flying as a Hamsa - Thazhampoo falling down. You can see the speed of the falling thazampoo. Both meeting and discussing.
Shiva with an all knowing smile.
Amazing. IamOBSERVING Thazhampoo for the first time. Is any other temple having thazhampoo in anaamalayar. have seen bore and hamsa but dont remeber seeing like this. Thanks to PSVP and vj learning to observe idols.
This temple and vimana are visual treat with lots of images and inscriptions ( covered with lime).
Anamalaiyaar : lingoth bhavar Thazhampoo: the flower which supposedly gave false witness supporting brahma's stand that he indeed saw the top of the pillar n secured the flower fm there. U know the rest
Dear VJ, here's the Badami tiger [?] belly. Someone else will have to provide it's location in front of which of the 4 south cliff caves, I forgot to record it. kathie
